"AGRIshelter III - The Walls" | Terra Viva Workshops n° 3 | CasciNet | November 2017

December 5, 2017

AGRIshelter is a prototype project for cheap and biodegrable refugee housing by the Iranian architect Narges Mofarahian. It was one of the five winners selected in the international competition "What Design Can Do", devoted to the question of refugees and co-sponsored by IKEA and UNHRC. The project has been part of her Master Thesis on the recent refugee emergency, developed under the supervision of professor Richard Ingersoll at Politecnico di Milano.

During the two "AGRIshelter" Self-constrction Workshops proposed by Terra Viva (16-19 Nov. and 23-26 Nov.), a 1:1 scale prototype has been built by the students themselves.

Our Soil, Our Commons,  Our Future

A new vision for Planetary Citizenship

“Upon this handful of soil our survival depends. Husband it and it will grow our food, our fuel, and our shelter and surround us with beauty.

Abuse it and the soil will collapse and die, taking humanity with it”
